Information for participants

Equine assisted therapy is a collaborative effort between a horse professional working with the clients and horses to address treatment goals. This collaboration can extend to working with and along side  other therapists and counsellors where necessary.

Equine therapy can also be beneficial in personal development, self improvement and encouraging team building skills.

Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses, and then processing (or discussing) feelings, behaviours, and patterns.

When participating in equine assisted therapy there is no correct or incorrect way of completing the exercises.

Anything said within the therapy session is in the strictest confidence and will not be shared with others.

If at any time you feel uncomfortable with the exercises please tell your equine coach and we can stop or change exercise.
